Virtual Summer Bridge Program (2020) FAQs

In preparation for the virtual 2020 Summer Bridge Program at Benedict College, the administrators of the Program created a list of relevant questions and answers that will help ensure a smooth transition into the program.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

The 2020 Summer Bridge Program will officially commence on Monday, June 22, 2020 and will conclude on Friday, July 24, 2020.

NOTE: An online Orientation session is scheduled on Saturday, June 20 at 5pm (eastern standard time). Attendance is MANDATORY. Log-in activity will be verified. Participants will receive an invitation to the Orientation meeting by June 12, 2020 via their personal email addresses.

No. However, in order to move in your residence hall in August for fall term, up-to-date medical records from a certified physician must be on file in the Benedict College Student Health Services Center. Without complete medical records on file prior to the fall semester move-in date (tentatively August 3, 2020), students will not be given access to a room on campus.

The health form is included in your Admission packet.

Yes. Every participant must complete all required Admission steps, which includes paying their enrollment fee, prior to May 1. Please submit your payment here.

If an extension is needed, please complete Intent to Enroll Form.

The 2020 Summer Bridge Program is a rigorous four-week enrichment online program designed to help bridge the gaps between high school and college and prepare student participants for successful matriculation at Benedict College. Program participants’ daily schedules will consist of an academic course, tutorials/study sessions, co- and extracurricular programming. Program participants will receive their academic schedules by email no later than June 1, 2020.

No. Students are expected to participate in ALL program activities and workshops; attendance is mandatory and will be tracked through students’ log-in activity on E360 (Benedict’s learning management system). Requests for excused absences will only be considered if the appropriate documentation is submitted to summer.bridge@benedict.edu for review

Participants will utilize open source materials available online (at no cost). Participants must have access to a functioning laptop/tablet and reliable internet service in order to be successful in the program.

E360 log-in instructions will be sent to your personal email address (the one you listed on your Bridge registration form). Please expect instructions no later than June 8, 2020.

The minimum passing grade for Summer Bridge courses is C. If a student does not earn a final letter grade of C or better, then the student is not permitted to enroll in the fall term. The student will be encouraged to contact the Admissions Office to explore enrollment in a future term.
