This summer we will highlight students who earned “Student of the Week” recognition from our faculty during the 2017-2018 academic year. Each student of the week was highlighted on our departmental announcement board located on the second floor of Bacoats Hall.
Cristel Johnson is a December, 2017 graduate of our BSW program. She was a fantastic student during her time at Benedict College. Cristel earned Student of the Week recognition from our faculty during the fall 2017 semester. Here is the feature we wrote to highlight Ms. Johnson’s accomplishment.
The Student of the Week for December 4th- December 8th is Ms. Cristel Johnson! Cristel is a BSW Graduating Senior from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her current GPA is 3.48, and upon graduation on December 9th, 2017, she plans to continue to further her education and enroll in the University of South Carolina’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Currently, Ms. Johnson is a very active member in her church. Cristel feeds the homeless every Thursday night and she is a Sunday school teacher. Ms. Johnson was also the Social Work club president from the spring 2016 until spring of 2017. Ms. Johnson lives out life as a social worker each day by always having the mindset of making a change to anyone who is in a difficult situation. Update: Cristel is currently enrolled as an MSW Advanced Standing student at the University of South Carolina. Her anticipated graduation is May, 2019.
