Assistant/Associate Professor of Supply Chain

JOB TITLE:    Assistant/Associate Professor of Supply Chain         DIVISION:       Academic Affairs

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE:        Department Chair                                  DEPARTMENT: Business Administration

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in supply chain management as directed by the appropriate academic school administrator, dean, or chair; provide academic advising to students; maintain an active, scholarly agenda of research and service; serve on departmental, school, and college committees; meet the school’s assessment requirements; participate in community service and outreach programs; work collaboratively with colleagues and other programs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Teach up to 12 sch per semester
  • Provide advising to assigned students
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment of student learning outcomes, and co-curricular enhancements
  • Serve on committees on department, school, and college levels
  • Engage in scholarly research appropriate for rank
  • Participate in public service initiatives

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Track record of successful college teaching and/or demonstrated professional experience aligned with supply chain management
    • Experience with development and implementation of courses using learning management system and virtual platforms
    • Demonstrated capacity to facilitate student learning and engagement
    • Documented research agenda and record of scholarly work in discipline
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional responsibilities, student development, and service

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Ph.D. or terminal degree in supply chain management, operations management, or related field (ABD with a documented plan for completion may be considered)
  • Commitment to excellence in college teaching to an active scholarly agenda, and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity
  • Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning
  • Ability to demonstrate collegiality and a sound work ethic
  • Preferred – 3 or more years of teaching experience in higher education; experience in industry/business; record of publications and teaching effectiveness; experience with learning management systems
