COLUMBIA, S.C. – Reigning SIAC Player of the Year and preseason Player of the Year, Ay’Anna Bey, has been named the SIAC Player of The Week.
Bey is off to a fast start. Through four games, the junior forward averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Last week, she averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds in two games against Palm Beach Atlantic and Newberry College. Bey opened the 2019-20 season with 33 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The New Jersey native shot .633 from the floor through four games.
Wykira Johnson-Kelly was named SIAC Newcomer of The Week. In her first three games for the Lady Tigers, she averaged 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. The sophomore guard scored 29 points in her opening debut with the Tigers in their win over Lynn.
Benedict will host Augusta University on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the HRC Arena.
