Benedict finished runner-up in the Pioneer Bowl Battle of the Bands
On December 2, 2006, the BC Marching Tigers "Band of Distinction," voted the SIAC favorite band of the year, finished runner-up (2nd place) to Virginia State University at the Pioneer Bowl Battle of the Bands (CIAA vs. SIAC) held at Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, NC. Added to the mix were Tuskegee University and Johnson C. Smith University. BC received 23 points and Virginia State University received 24 points from the judges at the event.
