William A. Gaskins, Mayor of Hartsville, SC, affixed the seal of the city proclaiming June 30, 2005 as "Professor Charles David Brooks III Day" for
Mr. Charles Brooks’ dedication, commitment, loyal service and willingness to volunteer his time to the Hartville community. In recognition of his character, showmanship, and time spent as the director and writer of the play, "Affairs of Our Ancestors", which was performed on June 30, 2005 at the Center Theatre in Hartsville, SC during the Butler Heritage Foundation Week.
Mr. Charles David Brooks III is professor of Theater at Benedict College.
