Columbia, SC---January 7, 2010-Three Benedict College students earned Certified Student Leadership credentials during the recent National Conference on Student Leadership held in Washington, DC. Benedict College awardees were Malik Bailey, sophomore psychology major from Georgetown, SC; Tiesha Crutcher, sophomore criminal justice major from Chicago, IL; and Shingirai-Kina Gadsdensams, junior criminal justice major from Sacramento, CA.
The three students were among 169 conference attendees to earn this award by scoring high on an examination of leadership skills. NCSL is one of several higher education related training resources offered by Magna Publications, Inc., a Madison, Wisconsin-based communications company founded in 1972.
The three awardees are currently serving as members of the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) which is sponsored by the Office of Service-Learning and Leadership Development at Benedict College. Ms. Angela M. Woodard is the Coordinator for LDI and Mrs. Tondaleya G. Jackson is unit Director.
