Did you know ... ?

Brandon Long, a junior Criminal Justice major, has been selected as an intern with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for the summer of 2007.  Brandon will be assigned to the FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Anthony R. Jugmohan, Finance major, has been selected as an intern on Wall Street in New York with the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS).  The UBS is the world's largest wealth management firm in investment assets.  Anthony will join the Investment Banking 2007 Summer Analyst class at UBS as a summer associate in the Merger and Acquisition group.

Keisha Knight and Janice Baines scored in the top 15% of all test takers nationwide on the November 2006 administration of the PRAXIS II, Principles of Teaching and Learning Tests.  Both students received letters of commendation and certificates from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) for their stellar performances on these standardized examinations.  Keisha is a senior, Elementary Education major, and Jan is a senior, Early Childhood Education major.  Both of these honor students signed early contracts to teach in Richland County School District One for the 2007-08 academic year.

Mayokum Aiyelokun, an Accounting major, has been chosen by PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC), the largest accounting firm in the United States, to participate in its very selective Talent Development Summer Internship Program in Atlanta, Georgia.  Mayokun will work with the Firm's Internal Services Practice group.  He is the first Benedict College student to be accepted into this nationally renowned training program.

Valencia Goodwin, a prospective May 2007 graduate in Fine Arts, has been recognized by the City of Columbia Museum.  Valencia is a featured artist for the City of Columbia exhibition on historic churches.  Her exhibit is currently featured at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Cedric Thompson, a December 2004 Elementary Education graduate and a Call Me Mister Scholar, has been accepted into the Ph.D. program in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Maryland.  Since graduating from Benedict College, Cedric completed a master's degree and has established himself as a teacher leader in Prince George's County, Maryland School System.

Sheldon Bernard, a 2003 Benedict graduate in Physics, has completed a master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Washington State University in Pullman, WA.
