Camping and Outdoor Recreation (REC 338) - Syllabus in PDF

This course is designed to build a professional philosophy of organized camping, including an understanding of its purpose, objectives, background, present status and future trends. The students will investigate the leadership skills and programming ideas for the organized camp.

This course provides students with essential learning experiences pertaining to the different methods of weight management that seem to be most successful. The process combines caloric reduction with increased physical activity and is supplemented by behavior modification techniques aimed at changing undesirable eating and exercise habits. Effective weight control is presented in this course as the outcome of permanent lifestyle changes that involve strong dedication and motivation. The basic elements of this strategy are designed to impact a lifelong change in dietary behavior coupled with a a good exercise program.
