South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus Student Intern Program

The Office of International Programs worked with the SC Legislative Black Caucus to identify students interested in participating in the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus Student Intern Program. bc-2005-students-interns_at_sc_state_house-international_programs.jpgThe six week paid internship chaired by Representative Bessie Moody-Lawrence, allowed the students to learn about issues of concern to the citizens of South Carolina. It was held in March - April 2005. They attended Senate and House Sessions, and learn the mechanisms of the issuance of Bills and Laws. At the end of the Internship, students were required to write a research paper on an issue from the Caucus' Legislative agenda.
