Melinda Bastian was selected as the SIAC Player of the Week and Defender of the Week, after her impressive performances against conference foes Claflin and Clark Atlanta. Bastian, a native of Nassau, Bahamas, posted 65 kills and a set percentage of .398 in two matches. The 5'10 outside hitter also added two assists along with two service aces. Defensively, Bastian was just as impressive adding 16 digs and six blocks.
Ashley Jackson was named SIAC Setter of the Week. Jackson, a freshman from Dacula, GA, finished the week with 86 assists in two matches, finishing with a set percentage of .402.
Bastian and Jackson helped lead Benedict to a 2-0 record defeating Claflin at home and going on the road to defeat Clark Atlanta.
