2000 Benedict Volleyball team finishes second in EIAC

Coach Gwen Rouse's volleyball team experienced one of its worst campaigns this fall and for the first time in nine seasons did not win the Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season or post-season tournament.

The young Tigerettes, suffering from growing pains, finished with a 12-14 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference play. Barber-Scotia won both the regular season crown and the league tournament championship.

Four Benedict players received honors for their performances this season. The Tigerettes who received All-Conference laurels were setter Felecia Armstrong, outside hitters Courtney Wilson and LaTasha Caldwell and defensive specialist Chantelle Hobson.

Benedict also placed four player on the All-Tournament team. Joining Wilson, Caldwell and Hobson was middle blocker Reenoshia Ashford.
