#2E Benedict 3 def. #4E Albany State 2 (25-16, 22-25, 25-27, 25-23, 16-14)
In the final match of the day, Benedict defeated Albany State in a thrilling five-set match. Benedict won the first set but the Golden Rams took the next two sets. The Tigers would battle back and take the final two sets, 25-23 and 16-14. Benedict was led by Melinda Bastian with an astonishing 39 kills and Ashley Jackson, who had 57 assists. Albany State's Latrice Lewis finished with 27 kills while teammate Priscila Sena finished with a match-high 58 assists.

#1 Kentucky State 3 def. #2E Benedict 1 (25-17, 25-15, 20-25, 25-20)
Kentucky State used a potent offensive attack to defeat Benedict in four sets. Offensively the Thorobrettes were led by All-SIAC selection Mercedes Parker who finished with 26 kills and SIAC Setter of the Year, Brittany Stewart who finished with a match-high 54 assist. Defensively KSU was led by Ramona Douglas who finished with nine digs. SIAC MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, Melinda Bastian finished with a team-high 25 kills while fellow outside hitter LaTayvia Mack finished with 18 kills.

#2E Benedict 3 def. #2W Stillman 0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-22)
Benedict advance with a three-set victory over Stillman. LaTayvia Mack continued her strong play for the Lady Tigers with 20 kills. Melinda Bastian finished just one off the pace with 19 kills. Setter Ashley Jackson finished with a match-high 39 assist. SC got a stellar performance from Jamila McKinnis who finished with 17 kills, 10 assist and 17 digs in the losing effort. Stillman was eliminated.

#4E Albany State 3 def. #2E Benedict 2 (N/A)

Co-Coach of the Year: Gwendolyn Rouse. Rouse led Benedict to a 14-5 overall record (13-3 in the SIAC) and a second place finish in the SIAC East Division.

The 2010 team was led by Benedict senior Melinda Bastian. Bastian, a three-time all-conference first team selection, tied for the conference lead with 343 kills while posting a hitting percentage of .343. The 5-10 native of Nassau, Bahamas also added 77 digs, 37 total blocks, and 24 service aces. For her efforts, she was named 2010 SIAC Most Valuable Player. She was also named Offensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive year.
