The Men and Women's Tennis Team visited the Johnson C. Smith University Bulls for a non-conference dual match
The Tigerettes win their 08' opening Div. 2 contest
The Lady Tigers started their Div. 2 season with an 8-1 victory over the Lady Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University. The Tigerettes fought the high winds and nerves to pull out their first victory of the season.
At #1 doubles, senior Lauren Smith and freshman DeAndra Reasonover pulled out a tough pro set victory over Jennifer Lee and Brittany Laws 8-6
In the #2 doubles match, Paola Lopez and Ayana Martin teamed for a strong 8-1 win against Melissa Shuler and Jae Hargett.

#2 Paola Lopez (BC) defeated Jae Hargett (6-2, 6-1)

Benedict College Men's Team fall to Johnson C. Smith
The Men's team played their first match of the season. With four new freshmen the Tigers faced an experienced Bulls men's team in losing 9-0. The results were encouraging as the team played competitive matches.
At #1 singles, freshman Avery Coins took the Bull's senior Romar Douglas to a third set tie-breaker in his first collegiate season match and narrowly lost 5-7, 7-5, 11-13. This was a very competitive, down to the wire, match that showed Avery's ability and personal expectations for the season ahead.
In the rest of the matches, #2 Junior Jason Calloo fell to Jason Stuckey 6-2, 6-3.
At #3, freshmen Edward Cox and #4 Daryl Rice lost their first collegiate matches 6-3, 6-2 and at #5 senior Christopher Lampkin lost 6-2, 6-0.
