Day 2: Game #6 #2 Fort Valley State def. #3 Benedict 5-2 Fort Valley State advanced to the championship game after taking the first two doubles matches. In what seemed to be a matchup of the top two doubles teams in the conference turned out to be a one-sided affair as Freshman of the Year Roberta Robinson and Jesutice Awoyeye def. Deandra Reasonover and Lauren Smith 8-1. In the #2 spot Shakeela Jackson and Chantelle Chiles def. Shani Jones and Samatha McGill 8-3. Benedict would get its first win of the game when Pauola Lopez and Anyana Martin def. Chelsea Spear and Brina Pettiford 9-7. In the singles matches FVSU took three of the top four matches. In the #1 spot Roberta Robinson def. Deandra Reasonover won 6-3, 6-5 (5). Jesutice Awoyeye def. Pauola Lopez 6-3, 6-2. In the #3 spot Benedict's Lauren Smith def. Shakeela Jackson 6-1, 6-0 and the match was wrapped up in favor of FVSU as Chantelle Chiles def. Ayana Martin 6-1, 6-2. FVSU advances to the finals to face Tuskegee at 12pm on Saturday. Benedict will face Clark Atlanta in the consolation game.

Fort Valley State dominated Benedict winning two of three doubles matches and winning three singles matches all in easy fashion. In doubles play Desmond Watson and Drew Belk defeated Kenny Bovain and Devongelo Crawford 8-0 and Brandon Pringle and Kelvin Oliver defeated Edward Cox and Gene Utsey 8-1 to give FVSU a 2-0 lead. Benedict's Avery Coins and Jason Calloo def. Tommy Williams and Carlos Vinas 9-7 to draw the Tigers closer heading into singles play 2-1. In singles play Tommy Williams def. Devongelo Crawford 6-0, 6-2 to take the first victory for FVSU in the #1 spot. Brandon Pringle def. Edward Cox 6-0, 6-1 in the #4 spot and Kelvin Oliver def. Gene Utsey 6-3, 6-4 in the #6 spot to give FVSU the victory and a place in the finals. Benedict will move to the consolation game which will be played at 9am on Saturday. The Finals matchup will be played at 12 pm.
