Nathaniel Drisker, highly recruited from high school
and team captain, was recruited by Tuskeegee, Alabama State, and Benedict.
Drisker, an offensive and defensive player, played guard under Coach
Turner. In his first two years, he made All State. He loved to block
for the great running back, Fletcher Jones. His stay at Benedict was
interrupted to serve a tour of duty in Korea in the United States Army.
He came back to Benedict under Coach Sheats, again playing both offense
and defense. That was a sure way of making the team.
There were no expectations, they were call the 60 minute
men. Nathaniel only weighed 180 pounds but blocked like he was 200.
It was all about technique, and he was a technician at his position.
Nathaniel received a trophy for the Most Outstanding Lineman.
He graduated from Benedict with a four year degree and
later became a certified physical therapist. Nathaniel now resides
in New Jersey. He is active in his community and a member of the Progressive
Benedict College Alumni Club of Greater New York. He has two daughters,
one son and three grandchildren.
