SIAC Golf Invitational Championship 2009
April 19 - 22, 2009
The SIAC Golf Invitational Championship concluded with Morehouse College taking home the championship. Morehouse started the day with just a 36 stroke lead over Benedict but fatigue set in on a tough course at Flint River Golf Course in Albany, GA leading to Morehouse shooting a 350 to take the victory and Benedict shooting a 342 winding up in 2nd place. Paine finished the day shooting a 356 to finish in third while LeMoyne-Owen posted a 353 to finish in 4th place.
Phillip Allen of Morehouse College, who lead the field nearly all week long in scoring, took home the honor of Tournament MVP after shooting a 84, 74, and 71 respectively over the course of the week. Allen outshot Galen Aldrich, the regular season MVP, of Benedict College by five strokes to take home the MVP honors.
