Cheerleading Try-Outs
for Prospective Cheerleaders, Malelifters and Mascots

PROSPECTIVE CHEERLEADERS, MALELIFTERS AND MASCOTS.
I would like to thank you for being interested in the Benedict College Cheerleading Squad for the 2008-2009 School Year. It overwhelms me with gladness that you have chosen Benedict College as your investment bank. That means you have given us the privilege to help you invest your stock for the future.
During the 2nd week of April, a meeting will be held in the Gym on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00pm, and Try-Out practices will be held during the evenings of that week on Wednesday - Friday, April 9 - 11, 2008 at 9:00pm. The official day for try-outs will be Sunday, April 13, 2008 beginning at 6:30pm in the Benjamin Mays HRC Gymnasium. At that time, the Cheerleaders, Male Lifters and Mascots will try-out. I am looking for experianced cheerleaders, male lifters and a mascot.
REQUIREMENTS
The individuals that are interested must have experience and be motivated, positive, dedicated and respectful young person.
*Flyers - A flyer must be able to perform an Arabesque, Liberty and a Basket Toss. Dismount-twist down, cradle, full down and shove or pencil down. This individual must be willing to learn other stunts with proper spotting. The weight requirement for this position is 110-130 lbs. If you are able to perform these items correctly, with a little more weight feel free to try-out.
*Bases - A Base must be able to identify the grips for an Arabesque, Liberty and a Basket Toss. Your knowledge must go beyond these areas and be willing to learn more. (ACF, NCA, Etc.)
There will be a junior and varsity squad.
REQUIRED ITEMS
CHEERS - Two cheers
CHANTS - Two chants
JUMPS - All
STUNTS - Three twist down, craddle, pencil or shove down, etc
PARTNER STUNTS
DANCE - One - the male lifters do not have to perform a dance
GYMNASTICS - You must demonstrate any speical skills.
A written test will be administered.
These are the same requirements that need to be submitted for a video try-out tape. The video applicant will complete a written test at a later date.
Please send your tape a week before try-outs.
Try-out date: 04-13-08, time-6:30pm, Location-Gym.
