Benedict College vs. Belmont Abbey College

11/17/2007: In the 2007-2008 home opener, the Benedict College Lady Tigers took on the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey. With last years core group lost to graduation, the BC took the floor with an all new cast with the exception of Senior Guard Nakeechia Davis.

In first half action, the Tigerettes struggled to find some rhythm, but managed to keep the pace with the sharp shooting Lady Crusaders. The Lady Tigers would end the first half down 29-22. Coach Jenkins and the Lady Tigers came out as a much better unit in the second half but the adjustments were not enough to overcome Belmont Abbey. BC fell by a final score of 53-46. Junior Forward Nadia Flemming led the attack by scoring 12 points, grabbing 19 rebounds and tallying a block and two steals. Freshman Guard Diundra Doughty also made an impact offensively scoring 11 with an assist and a steal. Freshman Center Utivia Barnes also contributed 10 points. Your Lady Tigers will hit the court again Thursday November 29th in Greenville, SC to take on North Greenville College at 2pm.
