The Tigers cruised to a 73 - 62 victory over Stillman
The Tiger's tipped off against Stillman College last night in a battle for the first place spot in the SIAC. Coach Watson and the Tigers entered the match up with an 11-3 record while Stillman entered the contest with a 12 wins and 3 losses. Tydran Beaty opened up the game with energy not wasting any time connecting one of his powerful dunks to the rim. Anton Greer led the team offensively with 8 points and grabbed a total of rebounds. Newcomer Brandon Herring was 2-2 from behind the three-point line while shifty guard Xavier Collier added 5 points and 6 assists. The halftime score was 37 Benedict, 31 Stillman College.
During the second half, Stillman College kept their fight alive evening the score, however, they couldn't keep the Tigers in place to keep the score level. Collier led the attack for the Tigers scoring a total of 14 points while Marcus Goode and Antrjuan Albright both added 13 points. The Tigers improved our record to 12-3 and raises the Tigers to the first place position in the SIAC. Final score of the game was 73 Benedict, 62 Stillman College.
