The Tigers dunked their way to a 89 - 72 victory over the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University
The Benedict Tigers played host to the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University on Saturday afternoon in a packed gym as they try to add another win to their record. The Tigers came out of their cages with a slow start as Tuskegee took the lead 6-0 in the first two minutes of the game. Overall the Tigers shot 46 percent from the field and were 50 percent from behind the arches. Tydran Beaty blessed the crowd again with his powerful dunks and eventually scored 15 points before the end of the half. Beaty also grabbed 5 rebounds and 1 block. Antrjuan Albright, Xavier Collier, Marcus Goode, and Anton Greer all added 6 points during the half to give the Tigers a 7 point lead at the end of the half.
During the second half, the Golden Tigers evened up the score but it wouldn't be enough to keep the Tigers down. Too much Marcus Goode during the second half would prove to be the outcome of the game. Beaty was also a factor forcing turnovers and scoring 19 points before the final. Shifty guard Xavier Collier totaled 17 points and recorded 4 rebounds. The final score of the game was Benedict College 89 Tuskegee 72.
