BC Tigers Rebound to Defeat Clark Atlanta University 71 - 64
The Benedict Tigers returned from a road trip in Memphis, TN to face off against the 2010 SIAC Regular Season Champions Clark Atlanta University. The Panthers came out of the tunnel very aggressive holding the lead for a majority of the first half. Clark's Najee Lane scored his first 12 points during the first seven minutes of the game helping the Panthers to a 50% field goal percentage during the first half. The Tigers on the other hand only shot 26% from the field. The Panthers also out rebounded the Tigers during the first half 17 rebounds. Anton Greer and newcomer Marcus Goode led the Tiger scoring attack with 5 points each. They also grabbed for rebounds each before the end of the half.
During the second half the Benedict Tigers stepped their defensive game and enthusiasm up and held the Panthers to only scoring nine points for the first 10 minutes of the half. With 9:37 on the clock the Tigers took the lead with an Kennie Eberhart three pointer to make the score 44-41and would never regain the lead again. Coach Fred Watson and the Tigers kept pressing on their spectacular defensive display and eventually overtook the game. Anton Greer led the Tigers with 16 points and 6 rebounds while Xavier Collier added 14 points and 3 rebounds. Marcus Goode also added 13 points and dominated the boards with 8 rebounds. The final score of the game was 71-64. The Tigers improved their record to 3-4 (3-2 SIAC).
