Benedict Drops Double Header to Florida Gulf Coast

02/06/2007: The Benedict College Tigers were shut out 12-0 in the first game of a home double Header against Florida Gulf Coast University at Capital City stadium. Junior Sentrell Anderson pitched the first game surrendering 9 earned runs on 9 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts within four innings. Senior Deshaun Brooks pitched the final 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Junior Dawan Browning went 2 for 3 and Sophomore Justin Chapman contributed a 1 for 2 effort at the plate.

Sophomore Nathan Caldwell started the second game yielding 10 earned runs on 7 hits with 6 walks while striking out 2 in 3 innings pitched. Sidney Bouknight pitched the final four innings giving up 6 earned runs on 10 hits with 1 walk. Freshman, Alex Harvey turned in a multi hit performance going 2 for 3 and veteran Mike Cornish would contribute 1 RBI on a 1 for 3-game at the plate. The Tigers would lose the game by a final score of 19-2.

The Tigers are back in action tomorrow at Coker College in Hartsville, SC.
