2006 NCAA DII South Region Cross Country Championships

On November 4, 2006, The Benedict College Cross Country Student-Athletes had a great turnout at the NCAA DII South Region Cross Country Championships in Memphis, TN at Christian Brother University.

On the women's side, Irine Chepkoech lead the "Tigers" over-all as she completed the 6k course in 23:53 for 22nd place among 150 female athletes. She was the first runner in the SIAC to cross the finish line.

On the men's side, newcomer Oneil Williams finished the 10k in a time of 32:45 where he placed 11th out of 122 runners and was named a member of the South ALL-REGION Team. He was the first runner in the SIAC to cross the finish line. Titus Rotich set an example by finishing the 10k in 33:03 where he placed 16th out of 122 runners and missed the All-Region Status by one spot.

All-Region status: Student-Athlete must Place in the top 15 to be All-Region.
