Turnovers set up Benedict win

For first time, Tigers beat Lenoir-Rhyne

Host Benedict converted three turnovers into 14 points to defeat Lenoir-Rhyne, 17-13, in nonconference college football action at Charles W. Johnson Stadium on Saturday.
The victory was the Tigers' first in three games against the Bears (2-2).
After spotting Lenoir-Rhyne a 7-3 lead, Benedict scored on a 63-yard pass from Robert Reese to Corey Gardhigh with 5:57 left in the second quarter.
Lenoir-Rhyne tied the game on Colin Corpe's 44-yard field goal on the final play of the half.
Benedict took the lead for good when Anthony Porter's 50-yard fumble return set up an 11-yard scoring drive in the opening minutes of the third quarter.
