Peer Education Program (PEP)
Recruitment for the Peer Education Program (PEP) Team
What is peer education?
Peer education is the process whereby well-trained and motivated young people undertake informal and/or organized educational activities with their peers (those similar to themselves in age, background, or interests). These activities, occurring over an extended period of time, are aimed at developing young people's knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and skills and at enabling them to be responsible for their personal growth and development.
As a component of the Counseling Center's goal to provide relevant services, the Peer Education Program (PEP) Team is a program that trains students to provide primary prevention educational services to the Benedict College student body. PEP Team members will be expected to be available to receive training and to conduct educational sessions as requested. Team members must meet the College's Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
If you are interested in becoming a PEP Team member please complete the Peer Education Program (PEP) Team Application (PDF for printing) or come to the Counseling Center located in the LRC, LL - Suite 107 (lower level of the Library) no later than February 15, 2008.
