Twentieth Annual Teacher Education Career Recruitment Day

Dear Recruiter:

The Benedict College Office of Career Services and the Office of Teacher Education will sponsor its Twentieth Annual Teacher Education Career Recruitment Day on Thursday, November 15, 2007.  Again, we invite you to share in the experience. This is the time that we not only present our education majors to prospective employers, but it is also the time that our students meet prospective employers.  We have made some progress in increasing the pool of applicants for the teaching profession, but we have been even more successful in improving the quality of the applicants.  We have chosen to set aside a designated time to emphasize recruitment to maximize your opportunity to meet with our students.

This year, the Teacher Education Career Recruitment Day will begin at 9:30 a.m. with School Districts on Showcase.  Registered District recruiters will make brief presentations to all of our education majors.  At 11:15a.m., we will have a special senior session that will allow you to meet senior students who will graduate in December 2007 and May 2008 from our education program. This will be followed by lunch in the Swinton Center for recruiters and senior education majors at 12:15 p.m. After lunch, between 1:15-3:00 p.m., the doors will open to all education majors and recruiters will have an opportunity to exhibit their School Districts at the tabletop Career Fair. If one-on-one interviews with graduating seniors are required, a space is available in the Gressette Center (Please inform us at registration of your needs).   In addition, we want you not only to talk with seniors, but also to target certain advanced sophomores and juniors as they develop into "Powers for Good in Schools and Communities."

The registration cost for our Education Career Day is $95.00, which will include a six-foot table, two chairs, continental breakfast and lunch (for one person).  Any additional lunch may be purchased at a cost of $10.00 per person.  Please make your reservations today!  If you need additional information feel free to contact me by phone at (803) 705-4671 or 705-4815 or email Rutherk@benedict.edu.
