General Information
The Campus Police Department is directed by the Vice President for Student Affairs.
The Campus Police Department employs a staff of a full-time Safety Director, Twenty full-time employees and an unspecified number of part-time security officers as needed.
In addition, the Physical Plant and Dormitory Directors perform spot checks of the campus area and inform department heads of safety/hazardous and maintenance requirements. Work Study students also perform security and safety surveillance checks of the campus. Their duties are to only report findings. All Campus Police officers are certified campus law enforcement or security officers with full law enforcement authority. They are authorized to carry arms and have detention authority. Residence dormitory directors and residential hall advisors are equipped with walkie talkies which assist the Campus Police Department in identifying unauthorized trafficking of outside personnel. Security and law enforcement services are provided 24 hours a day 365 days a year. "At Benedict College, safety and security is everyone's responsibility"
