Office of Student Financial Aid

Student Financing Guidelines

All students who wish to be considered for financial aid to help meet their college expenses are urged to submit all necessary applications. Applications received after March 15th cannot be assured of consideration. Students should follow these instructions:

1. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Online:

For free application, go to: www.fafsa.ed.gov/

For general questions about filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800/4-FED-AID (800/433-3243)/ TTY: 800/730-8913 or 319/337-5665. Hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. (CST).

For FAFSA on the Web questions, call 800/801-0576/TTY: 800/511-5806. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. (CST); Saturdays from February 3rd to March 31st, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (CST); Sundays from February 18 to April 1st, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (CST)

For online application status checks, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and select the "CHECK MY SUBMITTED FAFSA" tab 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

2. Complete a Benedict College Financial Aid Application and send it with the completed application for admission.

3. Complete a South Carolina Tuition Grants Application between January and March and send it to:

Each eligible student will receive an award letter specifying the amount of financial aid granted and the conditions of the award.
