| The Title III Program began
at Benedict College on October 1, 1985. The College was awarded a grant
under the Higher Education Act of 1965 PL99-498, as amended. The budget
for the first year was $754,050. The Title III Program has been a constant
source of funds, funds that have assisted the
College in renovations, curriculum and program enhancement, student
and faculty development.
The mission of the Title III Program is to assist
the College to carry out its mission and vision. The goals and objectives
of each of the Title III activity projects are carefully crafted
to be in complete accord with the Strategic Directions and goals
of Benedict College. The Title III Office is the liaison between
the College and the U. S. Department of Education. It monitors all
activities and assures that the College is in compliance with Department
of Education guidelines, that all deliverable and deadlines are met,
that all goals and objectives are pursued according to established
timelines, and that the budget is expended appropriately. |
