Performer: The Benedict College Gospel Choir, the recipients of the Most Outstanding Choir at the 2006 National Collegiate Gospel Choir in Brooklyn, NY at the New York College of Technology

When:  Sunday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m.  Admission is FREE

Where: Brookland Baptist Church 1066 Sunset Blvd, Columbia, SC
 
Celebrating 10 years as director of the Award Winning Benedict College Gospel Choir, Darryl Izzard and the renown Benedict gospel choir in invite you to "Say the Word" them at their annual Homecoming Concert & 2nd live recording.  7:30 p.m. at Brookland Baptist Church, 1066 Sunset Blvd Cayce, West Columbia, S.C.

The Benedict College Gospel Choir is a program of the Fine Arts Department at Benedict College and has been ranked the collegiate gospel choir #1 in the nation for 5 of the 7 past years. They continue to reach people of all races, ages and faiths with the message of hope for the have a brighter tomorrow. The choir has recently returned from Caracas, Venezuela, and Once again will be featured performers at the Vatican in Rome, Italy this Christmas. 

This eighty voice ensemble consists of talented group of students from across the United States who will share their power and gifts of music with a life changing.

The Concert will feature original gospel compositions written, arranged and performed by Benedict College Gospel Choir, Mr. Izzard, several students and alumni. "I think the audience will be inspired and touched by the songs written by our students," Comments Izzard.  "I believe this CD's destined for greatness and because it was written to uplifted and encouraged it's listeners."

The recording of Homecoming concert is expected to be released December 2006. Pre-Orders for reserved copies of the new CD along with copies of the choirs current CD, "Say the Word" will be both available for purchase on Sunday October 29, 2006 at the concert.

Doors will open for The Annual Benedict College Homecoming Concert at 6:30p.m. and the LIVE  Recording begins at 7:30 at Brookland Baptist Church 1066 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia
