Jun 9, 2004
Greetings Benedict College Family:
From the Office of Public Relations, we have great news to share with you about one of our distinguished alumni Dr. Rufus Pettis, a 1958 graduate and member of the institution's Board of Trustees.
In loyal support of our institution, Dr. Pettis donated $125,000 to Benedict. He was recognized during the Kresge Foundation Fourth Annual African-American Donor's Reception as one of the 29 black college alumni honored for major donations to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
As an institution, we greatly appreciate this significant contribution and thank Dr. Pettis for his exemplary leadership, support of Benedict and the Kresge's initiative to strengthen HBCUs.
For more information, please review the attached press release (PDF) .
Thought for today: "Those who give so willingly and generously, always receive abundantly."
Sincerely yours,
Office of Public Relations
