Damon Qualls Articles: His story  Schools Seek a Few Good Men (Printable Version in PDF) Benedict Graduate Makes Top Ten Finalist for Greenville County Teacher of the Year Mr. Damon Qualls, a 2003 graduate of Benedict College and its Call Me Mister Program was recently named among the top ten finalist for Greenville County Teacher of the Year. The winner will be announced in August 2006. Holding the distinct honor of Alexander Elementary 2006-07 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Qualls advanced to the county-wide competition after completing a rigorous application process. Only a two-year teacher, Mr. Qualls was selected for the top honor at Alexander Elementary over many veteran educators. Though he's considered a novice by professional standards, Qualls comes to the education circle with a long-time desire to teach that was fueled intensely during his studies at Benedict.
