2002 Wall of Fame Inductees

Heyward Bannister - - Latimer Manor 1970-73
Heyward Bannister was recognized for his contributions to government and to the community at large through his volunteer activities. At the time of his induction, Bannister was Director of the Fannie Mae South Carolina Partnership Office. Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Bannister served as special assistant and liaison to the White House with the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs. He is a former Columbia Housing Authority Board member.

J. Anthony Brown - - Allen Benedict Court 1952-70
J. Anthony Brown lives in California where he co-hosts the internationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show heard on radio stations across the country. He performs stand-up comedy and has written and appeared on several television shows.

Brenda Gordon Pogue - - Hendley Homes 1974-86
At the time of her induction, Brenda Gordon Pogue was employed by the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice as the Training Coordinator for Staff Development and Training. She began at the agency in December of 1985, and was eventually promoted to Warden of the Willow Lane Institution. She then became Institutional Administrator for the Reception and Evaluation Center until it closed in 2001.
