1993 Wall of Fame Inductees

Delano Roosevelt Boulware - - Saxon Homes 1956-66
At the time of his induction, Delano Boulware was a cinematographer and director for WRLK-TV, the public television station in Columbia. He directed and filmed documentaries and formatted news specials. He received the Communication for Excellence to Black Audiences Award for his work. Boulware says, “Among some of the most important values learned [growing up in Saxon Homes] were that you must give back to your community and never forget your beginnings.”

King Benjamin Lindbergh Jeffcoat - - Allen Benedict Court 1940-55
King Jeffcoat, who was principal at V.V. Reid Elementary School at the time of his induction, received his Master’s degree in Mathematics from Atlanta University. He has served the City of Columbia in a variety of ways, and in 1989, he was given the key to the City. However, Jeffcoat believes his most outstanding achievements have been those in which he was able to serve the community through Cub and Boy Scouts, his church, and recreational activities such as little league baseball.
