The theatre program is designed to offer courses and artistic opportunities that will enhance the liberal arts education programs at Benedict College.The objective is to allow interestd students and community members the opportunity to cultivate their artistic talents while producing theatrical events that are educational and entertaining for the entire Benedict College family.

The Theatre Program utilizes the Ponder Theatre located in the Ponder Fine Arts and Humanities Center. The theatre is a 265-seat proscenium stage that is fully equipped to manage a wide variety of productions including dance and musical performances.

Currently, courses offered by the Theatre Program include Theatre Appreciation, Fundamentals of Acting I and Fundamentals of Acting II. Plans are currently in place for an expanded curriculm that will lead eventually to a major degree program in Theatre Arts.
