The Benedict College ART Intelligentsia

The purpose of BCARTI is to foster community pride and enlightenment through intelligence and awareness of the arts. It is our mission to be a creative and uplifting voice. All academic majors are encouraged to join.

BCARTI seeks to offer support to other campus organizations and purveyors of the educational process through the creativity and artistic skill of each individual member and the group as a whole. In addition to raising campus awareness of local artists and artworks, BCARTI’s intention is to assist in the development of an allaround intellectual growth and, through BCARTI Extension, to carry this learning into the world community.

Webster’s illustrated Dictionary/Thesaurus defines “intelligentsia” as intellectual or learned people, collectively, especially those capable of thinking for themselves. BCARTI intends to operate under the assumption that its members embody the principles of this definition and will treat them as such. BCARTI members are encouraged to bring their individual talents and abilities to the organization; we welcome the ideas and innovations of all members. We further intend to assist in the growth of individual members through the collective talents and abilities of the entire group.
