Mass Communication
The competencies for Mass Communication majors are to develop and demonstrate proficiency in:
- verbal and written communication skills needed for employment in Mass Communication;
- skill applications for college and community service;
- portfolio development of concrete work experiences that augment academic acquisition and strengthen their ability to compete in the world of work;
- processes of media theory, computer integration techniques, and field applications that ensure readiness for graduate school and/or a career; and
- practical media skills that would qualify them for post-collegiate opportunities and would enable them to excel in their professions.
