Benedict School of Honors wins several titles at the
NAAAHP Conference
[Columbia, S.C.] – The Benedict College School of Honors brought home several awards from the 2006
National Association of African American Honors Programs Conference (NAAAHP) held Nov.1-4 held at the Columbia Marriott. The 15th Annual NAAAHP
Conference was co-hosted with Claflin and
South Carolina State universities. This year’s conference paid tribute to
the founders of the NAAAHP organization and its charter members.
Dr. David H. Swinton won the 2006 NAAAHP
President’s Award along with Presidents Andrew Hugine, South Carolina State University and Henry Tisdale, Claflin University.
Benedict students won the NAAAHP debate
competition and the Best Delegation award. Additionally, Dr. Warren Robinson,
Acting Dean for School of Honors, was selected Vice President of the NAAAHP and
Professor Sybil Rosado received the Faculty Member of the Year award.
