Faculty and Staff Achievements for 2004-05

HPER (Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation)
1. Mrs. Doris Miller was elected chair of the general wellness section of the board of the South Carolina Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance.
2. Dr. Emenike was appointed to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness.
EDCFS (Department of Education, Child and Family Studies)
1. Dr. Ram Baral had a book published in his home country of Nepal entitled Elements of Psychology.
Presentations:

1) Presented a paper on the topic of: Integrating Educational Technology into Special Education Classrooms" in an International conference of Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), at New Orleans, Lousiana, in April 16, 2004;

2) Presented a paper on the topic of "Delivery of Special Education Services" in an International Conference of Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) in Baltimore, Mary Land on April 4, 2005
2. Dr. Baral also had an article entitled 'Philosophy of Teaching' published in the journal Education Quarterly.
3. Dr. Judy Carter was elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer and Board Member of the South Carolina Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (SCACTE) for the 2005-2006 academic year.
Social Work
1. Dr. Hopson served as a site visitor for two CSWE accreditation visits this year.
2. Dr. Hopson's Gero Center Proposal for Gerontology Curriculum infusion in Social Work foundation courses was funded.
3. Dr. Hopson served as a Consulting Editor and reviewer of juried paper publications for the Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work (JBSW). |
