Child and Family Development

Child and Family Development, prepares graduates to work in non-public school early learning environments.

Child and Family Programs is an area in the Education, Child & Family Studies Department that offers a child development program conducted in a laboratory (Child Development Center- "CDC") for pre-school children ages 2-6. College students receive part of their practicum training at the Child Development Center. This program also provides specialized training leading to a credential as a Child Development Associate (CDA) and conducts a variety of short term training activities and special projects. College students who follow the Child and Family Development option will complete a six credit hour practicum and receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development.
