CD 232 Developing Activities for Young Children credit 3 hrs. Focus on planning, developing, an implementing culturally and developmentally appropriate activities for children from birth to five years. Emphasis on all areas of development (social, cultural,emotional, cognitive, language, and physical). Use of technology is also emphasized. CD 334 Preschool Curriculum Models credit 3 hrs. An overview of Early Childhood Curriculum models (e.g., Reggio Emilio, Montessori, Head Start, Bank Street). Twenty (20) hours of practicum experiences are required. Prerequisite: CD 232. CD 336 School Age Children's Development and Programming credit 3 hrs. Typical and atypical development for 6- to 12-year old in families, schools, and society. Discussion of parenting issues, culture, and after school programming. NAEYC guidelines for working withschool age children. Twenty (20) hours of practicum experience are required. CD 338 Infant and Toddler Development and Activities credit 3 hrs. Typical and atypical development from birth to two years. Guidance and development within thecontext of the family, program, and society. NAEYC guidelines for working with infants and toddlers.Cultural differences in childcare are included. CD 433 Child Development Associate Credentialing credit 3 hrs. Students will complete requirements for CDA Credentialing. Prerequisites: all CD 100, 200, and 300level courses.
