The Evening and Weekend Program supports the degree completion of Adult Nontraditional Learners who wish to earn baccalaureate degrees for career advancement and other leadership positions. We are committed to providing our Adult Learners with the same high quality educational opportunities provided to our traditional daytime students while also accommodating their increasingly demanding lifestyles. Each class is specifically designed to incorporate the needs of Adult Learners through an active faculty-student interaction that will incorporate the experiences of the Adult Learners. The classes will also encourage collaborative and peer learning amongst students in an enabling academic environment. Through the Evening and Weekend Program, Adult Learners may earn their degree while working full time.
The Evening and Weekend Program for adult nontraditional students is designed to extend the academic programs and services of the College to the Columbia metropolitan area and beyond. The Evening and Weekend Program is offered principally after the regular workday between 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, and 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The aim of The Evening and Weekend Program is to help the adult population, 25 years of age and older, to balance the need for lifelong learning and professional development, with family obligations and work responsibilities.
The Evening and Weekend Program is designed especially for adult students with weekday daytime commitment who wish to earn the bachelor's degree. It is also designed for career advancement or simply for self-enrichment-to explore knowledge in the arts and humanities, as well as business and science. Students may receive academic credits for prior learning experiences through the Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) committee, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the DANTES Program Subject Standardized Tests.
