The library collections consist of the following:

• The main book collection consists of over 100,000 volumes.
• The periodicals collection consists of over 300 current journal subscriptions (selected titles have back files in bound volume and microform format). This collection is supplemented by over 1,000 full-text online journals. It is very technologically advanced and provides access to many CD-ROM and online journals and databases (see ERC for access to the online resources).
• The Government Documents Depository consists of over 1,600 government publications.
• The African American Collection consists of more than 6,000 books, exhibits, artifacts, and audio-visuals depicting the life and history of African Americans in South Carolina and the nation.
