Special Assistance
The Office of Special Student Services provides some assistance for students who are in need of special accommodations in order to achieve academic success. The services are:
- Provide a note-taker in the classroom
- Provide Reader Services
- A small technology lab is available in the Learning Resources Center (Library) that houses the following equipment and software:
- Electronic Reader
- Optalec Machine (Enlarged Print)
- Computer and Printer
- Via Voice (for typing reports, etc.)
- Make available use of telephone services and fax machine for official business
- Administer tests for faculty as requested
- Make referrals to agencies providing funding
- Work closely with faculty to have students' needs accommodated
- Provide Peer tutoring
- Provide tape recorders, tapes, and talking calculators
- Make referrals for Internships and Summer Employment
- Provide Service-Learning opportunities
- Serve as a Work-Study Site
