Columbia, SC -- June 10, 2014 -- Mrs. Brenda Armstrong Clark, Benedict College Social Work Professor, will travel with a group of fourteen social work educators to Cuba June 14-22, 2014. Participants are members of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), who are full-time faculty members and/or administrators at their universities.

COLUMBIA, SC -- Although Benedict is just down the street from my office, it had been several years since I visited the campus. So maybe it’s not so surprising that I had an “aha moment” when the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina was invited to visit recently to receive the School of Business’ 2013 Community Leadership Award.


Benedict College senior Lovell Jackson thinks President Barack Obama needs to treat his second term differently than his first.

“He should take an aggressive approach now,” the mass communications major from Tampa, Fla., said Monday of Obama’s inauguration. “We got all the history out of the way. Let’s get down to business. … The first four years seemed so surreal. Now, it’s real.”
