Columbia, SC -- November 1, 2016 -- The Benedict-Allen Community Development Corporation recently received more than $1 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to help fund its YouthBuild Program. The grant will provide construction training, adult education services, and leadership development training to 60 area youth ages 16-24.

The agency has received three previous grant awards totaling over $1.6 million during the past 15 years and they have provided training and education services to over 200 area youth.

Columbia, SC -- October 5, 2016 -- As we prepare for Hurricane Matthew, the Benedict College campus, Child Development Center, and Continuing Education Program will close from Thursday, October 6 through Sunday, October 9, and will re-open on Monday, October 10.

Only essential personnel should report to campus from Thursday to Sunday.

Columbia, SC -- October 5, 2016 -- The Benedict College Board of Trustees Chairman, Dr. Charlie W. Johnson, announced today the names of the Benedict College Presidential Search Committee. The Presidential Search Committee will be responsible for reviewing applications, participating in interviews with the potential candidates and presenting recommendations for consideration by the Board of Trustees. The Committee consists of members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, student leaders, and community leaders.
