Benedict College Announces Appointment of Dr. Isoken T. Aighewi as President-Elect of the Association of Environmental Health Academic Programs

Columbia, SC--August 14, 2012--The Association of Environmental Health Academic Programs (AEHAP) announced the appointment of Dr. Isoken Tito Aighewi, Associate Professor of Environmental Health at Benedict College School of STEM, as the new President-Elect of the association's Board of Directors for 2012-14. The announcement was made at the recent National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Annual Educational Conference (AEC) held in San Diego, CA on June 28-30, 2012.

Chemistry

The Chemistry Program is designed to provide students with knowledge of the basic laws, theories, and principles of chemical systems and skills which will enable them to:

  1. 1. Enter careers in the chemical industry;
  2. 2. Pursue graduate work in chemistry; and
  3. 3. Enter a professional school of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or nursing.

Biology

The Biology Program offers courses in Pre-professional Biology. The major prepares students to:

  1. Enter careers in a wide range of life sciences in industry, government, and private enterprise;
  2. Pursue graduate work in Biology; and
  3. Enter professional schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, veterinary medicine or other health care fields.
