Mrs. Bernice Manigo
Mrs. Bernice Manigo is a retired educator. She retired from Richland School District One; she was a teacher at Columbia High School. She began her teaching career in 1960 in Orangeburg County. Upon her retirement from Richland One, she taught four years at Benedict College, she was a member of the Social Science Department. She is a graduate of Claflin University where she received a BA Degree in social science. She received a Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina.
While teaching at Columbia High School, Mrs. Manigo received the school's most prestigious award given to faculty members, The Human Relation's Award. She is active in community and civic organizations; among them are: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, National Association of University Women; NAACP, and the United Baptist Deacon's of Greater Columbia. She is a member of Gill Creek Baptist Church.
She is married to Clyde Manigo and they are the parents of two adult children and they have one grandchild, T. Christopher Johnson, II who won first place in the "Stars of the Future" contest.
