Herman Jones, Jr.
Mr. Herman Jones, Jr. is a graduate of Alabama State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in performance on saxophone. After completing twenty years of active federal service in the United States Army, first as an Army musician and later as a commissioned officer of Field Artillery, Mr. Jones retired from military service and completed a Master of Music degree with a concentration in Jazz Studies at Georgia State University. He has performed throughout in numerous settings from concert clarinet to jazz saxophone. Mr. Jones has performed with a number of artists such as Greg McPherson and George Nealy to name a few. Mr. Jones is currently an Instructor of Woodwind studies and Director of Bands at Benedict College. He is also a founding member of The Standard.
